Introducing our new regular feature here at Briefbox; The Community Showcase Series. With so many awesome designers submitting their creative goodness to our helpful practice briefs, we realised it was time to start helping these designers to get more exposure for their hard work. Artwork featured in our Community Showcases are examples of the type of work you can create using Briefbox to help fill out your portfolio and ultimately move onto becoming a professional designer.
Alanna Palmer, designer and illustrator
Alanna signed up for a Briefbox free account early last year and began experimenting with some of the free briefs available to push her skills. She has since upgraded to a pro account and after recieving some helpful feedback from the Briefbox team we have seen her work rapidly improve. The above submission — to the very popular Film production flyer brief. — is a perfect example of this.
Alanna is actively using the submissions in her beautiful website and portfolio to show potential employers what she can do…
Gianluca Italiano, web and UI designer
Gianluca has an eye for spacious, clean web and UI design and has been using many of the briefs from our library to push his skills. The Briefbox team have been helping Gianluca with his submissions giving him helpful tips & tricks along the way, like with this submission to the Italian restaurant brief.
Since then Gianluca has been improving his all round UI skills even further like this submission to the Simple, fresh sign up form brief which really impressed the Briefbox tutors due to its light, minimal colour palette and considered use of typography.
Chris Go, designer & illustrator
Chris has been keeping up her momentum and getting the most out of her Briefbox pro account even since she upgraded. With over 25 submissions to various briefs on the site, the Briefbox tutors have been helping Chris to improve her skills, giving helpful feedback on all her submissions. By trying out many of the different briefs available across all the categories in our library, Chris began to develop and improve her all-round skills. We absolutely loved the above artwork submitted to the Fun and quirky wallpaper brief
With so many submissions completed, Chris now has a pretty hefty and impressive portfolio to blow potential clients away. Here are a few other projects Chris has completed, using the Briefbox library:
Stationery artwork submitted to The Luxury Stationery designs brief
Branding submitted to The Bicycle Rental Logo brief
Chris has really shown just what you can be achieved by tackling a variety of projects from the Briefbox library. By spending quality time on each brief and considering the final output of the designs – in professional looking mock-ups for example – a quality collection of portfolio pieces can be achieved.
That’s it for June’s community showcase. We’re super excited to see what our community submit throughout the month of July. We’ll be sure to showcase all the awesome submissions the Briefbox designers are working on, and in the meantime, be sure to check out our every growing Library of briefs to help you develop your skills.
