Awesome to see your first Pro submission from you! Thanks for uploading your concept sketches too! It's always good to see the working process behind your designs.
This is a great start at hand drawn lettering. Typography is a tricky old business but you've given it a great shot! I see that you've originally hand-drawn your logo design. I think that these initial sketches have some a great fluidity to them, which perhaps gets a little lost in the final design. The final logo has a bold style, though I think you could work in a few extra flourishes here, such as varying the line weight, so it feels a little quirkier and less digital. You can work on keeping your lines consistent by using guides within Adobe Illustrator.
Whilst your logo is looking pretty smart, I think that some of the letterforms could be tweaked to make them more consistent in weight and size. I think that you could investigate joining up the letters a little more, for example where there is a little gap between the capital 'S' and the 'w' - this could be tweaked to allow it to flow together a little more.
I think it'd also be working checking out our resident designer and awesome typographer, Flavia's top tips on live-trace, to make the most of your sweet initial drawings and sketches: http://briefbox.me/2016/07/08/live-trace-or-pen-tool/
And so, great start overall Nathan! Have a go at those slight tweaks I mentioned and I reckon this will be an awesome design! Remember, if you do choose to rework this, upload your updated design as a new submission so the community can follow your progress! Thanks!!!
