This is my first serious attempt at this sort of thing in years and my first ever briefbox brief. I normally work on highly detailed fantasy illustration pieces but wanted to try something simpler and graphic for this design. I selected Stonehenge because I wanted to try for a blocky, heavy and simple design to get out of my comfort zone. As such, I kept the image to three colors. The grey and black for the stone and the green as representation of the fields where the monument exists. The negative space is actually knocked out rather than painted and will take on the color of the background but should mostly sit on grey for for the best effect. As a counterpoint to the he I added a bit of a shine to the mock up as I see this being on a glossy stock when printed.
Also, it wouldn't let me make some of the changes to the files so I had to resubmit.
