To be absolutely honest, i liked the hand-drawn art work better than the final submission. Like James critiqued above, it heartbreaking to see the line shading missing from the final flat designs. I feel the hand-drawn treats had more character in them than the flat design one, I could really feel the pain of the burning marshmallow.
These are really cute! I love the characterization for each food item and the colors used here. :-)
Hey Mintysaurus... firstly, great name! We're happy to have you onboard as a Pro member and I hope the added benefits are helping your progression.
Secondly, these temporary transfer tattoos are awesome! I really like your general illustration style, you've really created a personally for each character. I love their expressions. I honestly think these are great and I think you've nailed the brief so I only have one recommendation:
I noticed that you didn't digitalise the line-work shading from your original sketches. I feel like this is a real shame as it really helps to bring the shapes to life and the rough style works brilliantly. However, I like how you've included the dot effect shading in the bottom right marshmallow, perhaps you could try and implement this (or the original line shading) throughout the set to give them more shape and make them more consistent with each other?
Other than that, I think these are great, I especially like the bottom middle marshmallow from your original sketches (the one on fire!), I'd love to see this one digitalised too. Thanks for your submission, keep up the good work.
I think you are spot on with your feedback here..
There was the thought to replicate the marshmallow dots through to the other characters, however, I was being lazy..
I want to revisit these to add some more treats and the tortured marshmallow..
Thanks for the comments, I am really grateful for your teams insightful critiques.
Ps. Thanks for the feature! ?
